Luminaires shall be of the highest international quality in material, workmanship and finish and are to generally comply with IEC 60598 and the applicable CISPR recommendations. Manufacturer is to verify and certify compliance with these standards and the applicable local regulations and design standards.

Minor deviations from the Drawings may be considered for improvement in construction details, but no changes are to be made without the written approval of the Engineer.

Ambient Conditions for External, Exterior and Outdoor Lighting System

Unless otherwise specified, equipment is to be designed and derated for continuous and trouble-free service at 50 deg. C (122 deg. F) ambient temperature and 100% relative humidity, with temperature reaching 70 deg. C (!58 deg. F) in direct sunlight and with high content of ultra-violet rays. Equipment is to withstand full load operation whilst exposed to sun.

Test and Certificates for External, Exterior and Outdoor Lighting System

All lighting fixtures to have test certification from approved, internationally accredited, photometric laboratories. Obtain specific written confirmation from luminaire, lamp and control gear manufacturers on the inter-compatibility of the equipment/devices to each other and to the specific project conditions.

Source of Luminaires for External, Exterior and Outdoor Lighting System

All luminaires shall be sourced either directly from manufacturer or from manufacturer­ authorized dealer/agent within the country, with documentation as necessary.

Delivery, Storage and Handling of Poles for External, Exterior and Outdoor Lighting System

  1. Store poles on decay-resistant treated skids at least 300 mm above grade and vegetation. Support poles to prevent distortion and arrange to provide free air circulation.
  2. Retain factory-applied pole wrappings on poles until just before pole installation. Handle poles with web fabric straps.
  3. Luminaries are to be stored indoors in protective covering.
